Dr.S.SUYAMBAZHAHAN is the Principal of esteemed S.A. Engineering College. He obtained Doctoral Degree from Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He is a Mechanical Engineer, took the Post Graduate degree in Thermal Engineering from Annamalai University, Under Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Institution of Engineering (India) and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Kamaraj Polytechnic College. He has academic honors in recipient of School First Rank in H.S.C., University First Rank with distinction and First Rank Award in Advanced Heat Transfer Course in M.E. Degree. His area of Specialization is Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Heat Transfer.
He has vast knowledge in Numerical Modeling and Analysis of Flow and Thermal Projects. He has taught the subjects of Mechanical Engineering like Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Thermodynamics, Advanced Heat and mass Transfer, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Thermal Engineering etc. several times for UG and PG students and Ph.D. scholars. He presented several Guest Lectures & Seminars in Various Conferences, Workshops etc. Also he organized several National level symposiums in various institutions.
He has adorned various coveted positions before becoming the Principal of S.A Engineering College. He has 22 years of teaching & research experience in various positions starting from Associate Lecturer, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Project Officer, Professor and Head of the Department to Principal in reputed institutions. He is working as principal continuously for past 6 years in reputed institutions. He worked as Principal in an Engineering College located in rural place kanchpadi, Thiruvallur District for systematic transformation of the "Rural Students" into highly motivated Graduates with Professional Competance. Also he arranged various Training and Placement program for Students. The Students were placed in reputed companies like CTS,IBM,TCS,HCL,CSC etc..
During the tenure of his service as principal he had introduced many methods to reform and improves the academic, research and Administrative matters of the Institutions and also to improve the university examination results apart from implementing many plans.
He has 12 years of experience in Research & Development especially coding & software knowledge in CFD & Heat Transfer. He has published several papers in International Journals like International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, International communications in Heat and Mass Transfer, International Journal of Heat and Technology. International journal of Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science etc. Also he has published several papers in International Conferences on Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Power, ISHMT/ASME Heat and Mass Transfer Conference, Sixth World Conference on Experimental Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics and Conference of Fluid Power Technology, etc. He is the author for various text books in Engineering.
He has completed two sponsored Projects in the title of “Thermal Hydraulic Investigation of Thermal Striping in the Hot and Cold Pools of Liquid Metal Fast Breeder Reactor (LMFBR)” and “Thermal Hydraulic Analysis of Intermediate Heat Exchanger (1HX)” funded by DRDO department and submitted the technical reports.
He has guided many B.E, M.E & Ph.D. scholars. Presently guiding 3 Ph.D. scholars from Anna University, Chennai. He visited abroad (Japan) for presenting a paper in Sixth World Conference on Experimental Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics held during the period 17-21 Apr 2005.
He acted as Chief Examiner, Chief Superintendent, Chairman and camp officer several times for the Anna University, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University and State Board Examinations. Recognizing his potential and commitment to the conduct of University exams and central valuation, Anna University of Technology Chennai appointed him as Zonal Coordinator for 24 Engineering Colleges in ZONE-I.
Besides this, he is a life member of several professional societies like Indian Society for Heat and Mass Transfer (MISHMT), Indian Society for Technical Education, (MISTE). The Institution of Engineers (India)(MIE), Fellow and Chartered Engineer (I) of the Institution of Engineers(I), Indian Institute of Plant Engineers(MIP), Aeronautical Society of India (MAeSI), Combustion Institute (MCI) International, National Society of Fluid Mechanics and Fluid power (MNSFMFP), Fluid Power Society of India. Madras chapter (MFPSI), Society of Automotive Engineers (MSAE), Member of Computer Society of India (MCS). He is also a Member of selection Research and Pre valuation Boards in Bombay Science and Research Educational Institute, Sri Vidya college of Engg., & Technology and Board member of faculty of Mechanical Engineering Anna University Chennai.
He is intelligent, sincere, dynamic, honest and highly motivated person. He has a good aptitude for pursuing a career in academic and research & development. He is capable of extreme hard work and pursues task with a high degree of perseverance until its successful completion. He believes in methodical work and distributed the work to all staff members in a well planned manner and also make them accountable by monitoring all activities of the college, His weekly meeting with all HODs where the issues are thrashed out and strengthens all academic and non academic activities of the college.
He is a visionary leader and good administrator to manage educational transformation in the institution to develop high academic appreciation in a background of superb postural care and to make a real difference to student’s lives in a totally innovative education setting.
