DEPARTMENT INFRASTRUCTURE
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department was established in the year 2001. The Department has the best facilities available in the region in terms of infrastructure including laboratories and faculty.
Lectures, seminars, laboratory classes and tutorials form a large part of in-college academic activity. The Department imparts quality education to its students, in modern lecture rooms equipped with appropriate teaching aids.
In a seminar, a group of students, faculty members and industry experts meet to discuss papers prepared on a given subject. The students are encouraged to participate in State and National level symposia, extra curricular activity and conference. They have won prizes in the above said activities. Due to quality academic standard of the Department, the students of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering program have been consistently performing well, securing good marks in University examinations. Thus the result and the placement of the Department is increasing every year.
The Department is having excellent laboratory facilities. The Electrical Machines laboratory has DC and AC Distribution Panel, 3 shunt motors, 1 series motor, 1 compound motor, 2 shunt generator set, 1 series generator set, 1 compound generator set, 4 Alternator set, 4 single phase transformers, 4 three phase transformers, 2 single phase induction motor, 2 three phase induction motor, 1 synchronous motor along with dc and ac voltmeters, dc and ac ammeters, wattmeter, rheostats, energy meters, Digital tachometers, resistive load and inductive load. Power electronics laboratory is well equipped with all the equipments recommended by the Anna university such as converter kits, inverters kits, MOSFET trainers kits, SCR trainers kits and has 5 license of Mat lab. Control system laboratory is equipped with all needed latest kits. Measurement and instrumentation laboratory is having all the required equipments some of them are AC bridges and DC bridges, Energy meters, A/D and D/A converters, Instrumentation Amplifiers, transducers, etc.

In laboratories, students experiment with the latest technologies, which help them in kindling their latest skills. The tutorials offer individual contact amongst a group of students and a tutor. |

The power system simulation laboratory for the final year U.G students is having 30 computer systems with Anna University power lab with 5 licenses. For design of electrical apparatus we have Orcad software. |
FACULTY
A senior industrial experienced professor heads the department with specialization in power system operation and protection. Highly qualified and diligent faculty to help the students to explore in their quest for knowledge supports the department. All the teaching staff members are having P.G degree with different specialization; among them three are doing PhD in various reputed universities.
ACHIVEMENTS
One of the student Mr.K.Ganesan had secured II rank (2007) in Anna University out of 8000 students. Our final year students are encouraged to carry out innovative project, which are very useful to the society. The department also conducts mini project competition during our symposium. Our present batch students have done many worthful projects among which few are published in leading Newspapers.
