ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

          The Department of Information Technology was established since inception of the College i.e. in the year 1998. The department has been accredited by NBA and certified by ISO 9001:2000. It has centralized computer center with a built up area of 1400 sq.m.The department aims to promoting quality and value based education, enables the students to face the challenges of the technical society and creating awareness and encouraged to develop on the future trends of the IT Industry.

The department has excellent & well equipped air-conditioned laboratory with updated configurations. The department has highly experienced & dedicated team of faculty, who are providing and maintaining high standards of teaching & learning.

          Our aim is to establish the department as a renowned academic and research centre to cater to the needs of the student community for the development of the nation. Towards fulfilling the objective over the years, the department has created excellent infrastructure, laboratories, and workshops, with dedicated team of faculty.

The Department’s laboratories include IBM X225 Series server and IBM Series X226 Servers and a cluster of Ethernet LANs and standalone personal computers.  The software available are Windows 2000 server  Windows XP, Windows NT, Red hat Linux, Rational Suite, Microsoft visual studio,  Microsoft office 2000 professional, Microsoft Frontpage 2003, Oracle 9i, Adobe In design, Studio MX, Direct MX, Borland Turbo C++ Suite, and Borland Enterprise server.

          The Computer Center serves with around 235 nodes.  The operating systems available include Windows 2000, Windows XP professional, and Red Hat Linux. The other application software includes MS office 2000, Turbo C++ suite, Borland Turbo C++ suite, and Visual studio, Oracle.  8 UPS of 10KVA capacity each provide power requirement for the above system. There are also eighteen dot matrix printers and one laser printer. The computer center provides   2Mbps  1: 2  RF leased line Internet connectivity.
