DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Established: 1998 | UG Intake: 60 | NBA Accredited | Research Centre 

The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers B.E. degree program in Mechanical Engineering, M.E. degree program in CAD/CAM and Ph.D. degree program. It is supported by a team of highly qualified faculty, many of whom hold Doctorates with expertise in Friction Stir Welding, 3D Printing, Composite Materials, Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), Tribology, and Fuel Cell Technology.

Highlights:

  • Ongoing Research Projects – Funded projects worth of more than Rs. One Crore from various DST schemes.
  • The Research Lab is well-equipped with Vertical Machining Center (VMC), CNC, Robot, DOBOT, 3D Printing Machines, Friction Stir Welding (FSW) machine and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
  • The CAD and Mechatronics labs are set up with the latest software to enhance design and automation learning.
  • The laboratories feature state-of-the-art machines such as Gear Hobbing Machine, Centreless Grinding Machine, Gear Shaping Machine, Dynamic Balancing Machine, Surface Roughness Tester, and a Steam Boiler & Turbine Test Rig.
  • Faculty and students are members of professional bodies like SAE, ISTE, IEI, and ASME, fostering professional growth and networking.
