DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
Established: 1998 | UG Intake: 60 | NBA Accredited | Research Centre
The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers B.E. degree program in Mechanical Engineering, M.E. degree program in CAD/CAM and Ph.D. degree program. It is supported by a team of highly qualified faculty, many of whom hold Doctorates with expertise in Friction Stir Welding, 3D Printing, Composite Materials, Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), Tribology, and Fuel Cell Technology.
Highlights:
- Ongoing Research Projects – Funded projects worth of more than Rs. One Crore from various DST schemes.
- The Research Lab is well-equipped with Vertical Machining Center (VMC), CNC, Robot, DOBOT, 3D Printing Machines, Friction Stir Welding (FSW) machine and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- The CAD and Mechatronics labs are set up with the latest software to enhance design and automation learning.
- The laboratories feature state-of-the-art machines such as Gear Hobbing Machine, Centreless Grinding Machine, Gear Shaping Machine, Dynamic Balancing Machine, Surface Roughness Tester, and a Steam Boiler & Turbine Test Rig.
- Faculty and students are members of professional bodies like SAE, ISTE, IEI, and ASME, fostering professional growth and networking.
- Two Centres of Excellence (CoE) for Smart Manufacturing (C-SAM) and 3D Printing.

Mechanical Engineering Laboratories

Engineering Practices Laboratory
The Engineering Practices Laboratory introduces students to fundamental workshop skills essential for mechanical engineering.
