The Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) at S. A. Engineering College (Autonomous) has been established with the vision of nurturing innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit among students. The Centre aims to create a dynamic ecosystem that empowers students to transform their ideas into viable and successful ventures. By fostering a culture of creativity, risk-taking, and collaboration, the EDC provides essential resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities to aspiring entrepreneurs. The Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) at S. A. Engineering College (Autonomous) focuses on creating strong awareness about entrepreneurship among students and faculty by highlighting its potential for innovation, career growth, and economic development.
It organizes training programs and mentorship initiatives to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with essential skills, practical knowledge, and expert guidance. The Centre also promotes networking by connecting students with industry professionals, successful entrepreneurs, and investors, thereby opening pathways for collaboration and learning. Furthermore, through incubation and acceleration support, the EDC nurtures innovative ideas, helping students transform them into sustainable and successful ventures.
Functions
Conduct entrepreneurship awareness camps and training programs.
Organize business plan competitions, hackathons, and innovation challenges.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and counseling for start-ups.
Facilitate interaction with successful entrepreneurs and industry experts.
Assist in preparing project reports and business models.
Support students in accessing financial assistance, grants, and incubation facilities.

PoSH Cell of Anna University is committed to sensitizing the campus community on gender issues, addressing complaints from staff and students, prevent discrimination and sexual harassment against women, by promoting gender amity among students and employees and deal with cases of discrimination and sexual harassment against women, in a time bound manner. The Higher education department came out with detailed guidelines to prevent and redress harassment in institutions. "The main objective is to create safe campuses for students, staff and faculty to function without fear, threat and anxiety" and the institution has the duty to ensure that students and staff are treated with dignity and respect, free from abuse or harassment. The guidelines also stipulate the procedure to file a complaint and formation of a committee to look into the allegations, moreover, conducting sensitization and awareness campaigns regarding the codes of conduct among all the people in educational institutions. In this connection, a web link has been created in the ‘Quick links’ of Anna University webpage for posting any grievances via email. Handbook on Sexual Harassment in Work place (UGC Act 2013 and 2016) has been uploaded along with the Internal Complaints Committee members list. Detailed guidelines for prevention and redressal of harassment in Higher Education Institutions have been uploaded on the webpage of PoSH cell.
