“COVID-19 VACCINATION CAMP” -09-09-2022

                 Our College NSS unit, in coordination with Avadi Corporation, has organized “COVID-19 VACCINATION CAMP” (1st, 2nd & Booster Dose) on 09-09-2022 at 10.00 a.m. at IT Auditorium.  Dr. Mohammed Haseen, CHO in charge from Avadi Corporation along with nurses conducted the camp. Our Principal Dr. S. Ramachandran has inaugurated the camp. The doctor vaccinated Covaxin & Covishield 1st, 2nd and Booster doses for the required students and staff. Totally 147 students and staff members have taken COVID-19 Vaccination. Doctor has given guidance on maintaining good health condition as well as further vaccination details. All participants were issued soft copy of vaccination certificate.

“DRUG ABUSE AWARENESS PROGRAMME” - 02.09.2022

              Our College NSS Committee, in association with Traffic enforcement, Avadi Police Commissionerate, has organised “DRUG ABUSE AWARENESS PROGRAMME” on 02-09-2022 at 10.30 a.m. in our college premises. Our Principal as well as Chairman of Anti-Drug Committee, Dr. S. Ramachandran felicitated the programme. Earlier, Anti-Drug Committee Coordinator, Dr. T. Senthilkumar welcomed the gathering emphasising the necessity of such programmes, for the youngsters who are falling prey of the drugs. Mr. M.M. Ashok Kumar T.P.S Traffic, Avadi Police Commissionerate, addressed the students stating that the youngsters are very good at their choice. Similarly, they can be choosy in their good habits too. Consequently, Mr. R. Aldrin, Asst. Commr. of Police, Traffic investigation, Avadi Police Commisssionerate insisted the parents to be vigilant of the activities of their wards. Subsequently, Mr.N. Ramachandiran, Asst. Commr. Of Police. Traffic enforcement, Avadi Police Commissionerate, expressed that drug abuse is a chronic brain disease which leads to the deadly end of unusual death. Mrs. D. Subashini, Inspector of Police, Avadi Traffic Investigation Wing, Avadi Police Commissionerate stated security is lost in teens and they are currently at the back of false identities through the involvement in drug habits and similarly, averting narcotic and psychotropic drugs will save from losing the respect and identity. Mr. Palani, Inspector of Police, Avadi Traffic Investigation Wing, Avadi Police Commissionerate shared his experiences with the drug abuse cases and advised the students to avoid drugs. 250 students along with Anti –Drug Committee members have participated in the program.  The event came to an end with Vote of Thanks and National Anthem.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY -21/06/2022

                S.A. Engineering College, Chennai-77, Tamil Nadu has organised ‘International Yoga Day’ celebration on 21.06.2022 at 9.00 a.m. in our college auditorium. Students and Staff members are actively participated. Physical Education Department in association with NSS unit of S.A. Engineering College has done all arrangements for the program. The Principal Dr. S. Ramachandran felicitated the occasion. He stated in his felicitation address that practicing yoga helps controlling the mind, body and soul. Yoga masters Mr. Gowtham and Mrs. Priya from Gauthama Yoga centre have graced the occasion and practiced the students. They explained about the importance and effect of Yoga. Particularly for the students, it leads to better grades and aids to balance blood pressure, decreases absenteeism and tardiness, improves interpersonal relations, and enhances confidence level, gives a good sleep, relieves from a headache, improves calmness and sharpens mind. They also motivated the staff to practice the Yoga every day. They insisted to start the day with ‘Surya Namaskaram’. That itself will keep the day fresh and active for everyone. Then they practiced all the students to do Surya Namaskaram and some more yoga. Staff and  students inclusive of both boys and girls got practiced. All the students actively participated throughout the sessions and got benefited.

“MASS CAMPUS CLEANING” - 03-06-2022

(COMMEMORATING THE BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FORMER CHIEF MINISTER OF TAMIL NADU Dr. KALAIGNAR M.KARUNANIDHI)  

     Our College NSS unit, has  organized “ MASS CAMPUS CLEANING” commemorating the Birth Anniversary of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Dr. Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi on 03/06/2022 at 11.30 AM. This service was inaugurated by our Principal Dr. S. Ramachandran.  Then Dr. T. Senthilkumar, NSS Coordinator directed the students to clean the campus. The present generation is driven towards the necessity of learning to maintain the learning and dwelling ambience clean. As a part of the extra-curricular activity the NSS unit of S.A. Engineering College has taken the initiative to train all the students to clean campus. This cleaning of the campus made the students to enunciate the need of the clean ambience. All students of the college took part in this campaign and enthusiastically contributed to the service. They were motivated to maintain cleanliness in their everyday routine.  The activity aided the students to be aware of keeping the surroundings clean and neat. 

“FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS” PROGRAMME -19-04-2022

                  Our College NSS unit organized “FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS” programme on 19-04-2022 at 11.00 AM in our college premises.  Mr. Krishnamoorthy, Assistant District Officer, Ambattur, Mr. Pon Mariyappan, Assistant District Officer, Tambaram and the team of fire brigades from Poonamallee and Ambattur fire service station graced the event with their presence and addressed on  “Fire Safety”. During the session they have given demo to put off fire as well as safety precaution. SAEC Principal Dr.S.Ramachandran felicitated the occasion. The fire brigade team appreciated  the institution for taking the initiative to bring the fire safety awareness among the staff and students. The team practically explained the measures to save one and others if fire is caught at a place. The nuances like using buckets to put off the fire in the gas cylinder, the strategies to use water to put off fire like swirling round the water, forcing it out etc. The entire programme was very useful and the students interacted with the team and got their doubts clarified. Finally Dr. T. Senthilkumar, NSS Coordinator has delivered vote of thanks. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
